Research  My research is centered around the geographic traceability of the illegal pangolin trade through use of a variety of molecular approaches. My current research project focuses on developing and testing a custom designed, target-enrichment next generation sequencing kit for all eight extant pangolin species. The aim is to use the aforementioned data to develop a cost effective, forensic molecular toolkit and geographic reference database as a means of tracing pangolin trafficking trends and poaching hotspots across the globe.
Training  Master of Zoology at the University of Pretoria.
